neko case- fox confessor brings the flood (2006), middle cyclone (2009)
i didn't know much about this lovely woman before this month, when i wandered into her endearing set at lollapalooza (i was there to see dan auerbach and lou reed). she was effortlessly amazing; bellowing out perfect country croons and dusty rock confessions. also, the sound was perfect. she really makes cat power look pretentious in comparison, IMO. here's two recent albums, which are both fantastic.

grizzly bear - veckatimest (vbr)
comes out today. upon initial listen this sounds sublime. can't wait to sink into it...and see them this summer.
